The Sunday Times app has been ranked as the number 1 magazine and newspaper brand on the iPad according to iMonitor’s latest ranking of the best apps of 2010.
The list was published by McPheter’s & Company, which tracks print media on tablet platforms. iMonitor’s rankings are based on combined scores for design, functionality and uses of multimedia and rich content.
We launched The Sunday Times iPad app in December last year and it has received rave reviews from media commentators for its stunning design, sophisticated navigation and functionality, and quality content.
With all 12 sections – including three magazines and a new interactive TV guide, the new app delivers a whole new, richer experience to readers.
Building on the success of The Times iPad edition, which was released last May, The Sunday Times iPad edition has been specifically developed to enhance the reader experience by making the very best of the iPad’s unique design and functionality.
The new iPad app allows users to discover exclusive added layers of information and access unique features, such as a headline scanner to easily find the top stories of the day.
John Witherow, editor of The Sunday Times, said: “This is the first time a multi-section newspaper has put everything onto an app and lots of video and graphics bring The Sunday Times to life. We are proud to deliver a really beautiful reading experience for the iPad.”
