News International titles have more then 50 nominations for this year’s prestigious Press Awards.

  

The shortlists were revealed today and The Times leads the way with 24 nominations. The Sunday Times has 17 and The Sun 10.

Winners will be announced at a dinner at the Lancaster London Hotel at Lancaster Gate on March 7.

NI journalists shortlisted are:

•    Young Journalist of the Year: Rachel Dale (Sun).

•    Business and Finance Journalist of the Year: Simon Duke (Sunday Times).

•    Foreign Reporter of the Year: Marie Colvin (Sunday Times) and Hala Jaber (Sunday Times).

•    Showbiz Reporter of the Year: Gordon Smart (Sun) and Richard White (Sun).

•    Sports Journalist of the Year: Mike Atherton (Times), Simon Barnes (Times) and David Walsh (Sunday Times).

•    Feature Writer of the Year – Broadsheet: John Arlidge (Sunday Times), Tanya Gold (Sunday Times) and David James Smith (Sunday Times).

•    Interviewer of the Year – Broadsheet: Bryan Appleyard (Sunday Times), Lynn Barber (Sunday Times), Camilla Long (Sunday Times) and Alice Thomson & Rachel Sylvester (Times).

•    Interviewer of the Year – Popular: David Lowe (Sun).

•    Columnist of the Year – Broadsheet: David Aaronovitch (Times), Camilla Cavendish (Times) and Caitlin Moran (Times).

•    Columnist of the Year – Popular: Jeremy Clarkson (Sun), Trevor Kavanagh (Sun), pictured above, and Jane Moore (Sun).

•    Critic of the Year: AA Gill (Sunday Times) and Will Hodgkinson (Times).

•    Photographer of the Year: Tom Pilston (Times).

•    Sports Photographer of the Year: Richard Pelham (Sun).

•    Cartoonist of the Year: Peter Brookes (Times).

•    Supplement of the Year: The Times Magazine.

•    Digital Award: The Times.

•    Best of Humour: Giles Coren (Times), Caitlin Moran (Times), Hugo Rifkind (Times) and Ann Treneman (Times).

•    Scoop of the Year: PM left his daughter, 8, down the pub – Emily Ashton (Sun); Cash for Cameron – Insight (Sunday Times); The tax avoiders – Alexi Mostrous and Faye Schlesinger (Times) and Plebgate – Tom Newton Dunn (Sun).
