News International Ltd announces the appointment of James Hawker as its new head of financial clients.
Hawker joins News International from his most recent post at The Guardian, where he was head of finance and travel since January 2007. His new role will involve him taking responsibility of forming close relationships with financial clients and ensuring that they are serviced effectively. He has also previously held posts at Redwood Publishing and Hachette Filipacchi. Hawker will replace Dominic Perkins who left in July to start his own enterprise.
News International has recently restructured its commercial division, headed up by Paul Hayes, managing director commercial, in a move that puts customer needs at the centre of the business strategy for future development.
Hawker will report to News International’s head of client development James Roles. Commenting on the appointment Roles explains: “Without question, James is a great addition to our senior team. His experience will help us to further improve our partnerships by initiating new and thoughtful ideas which deliver results.”
James Hawker said: “Choosing to join News International was easy. Within the business, there is a natural drive to create value for clients through focused, competitive solutions, which are realised by the wealth of experience within the team”.
