The Sunday Times Travel Magazine enjoyed a successful evening at the Periodical Publishers Association Awards on Wednesday 15 June.
The PPA Awards are the most coveted awards in the magazine industry, showcasing excellence, rewarding innovation, and providing the benchmark by which the UK magazine industry judges itself.
The Sunday Times Travel Magazine was shortlisted in all three ‘Blue Riband’ consumer magazine categories: Magazine of the Year, Editor of the Year and Writer of the Year. This was an achievement matched only by GQ and Elle. Nick Redman, Travel’s deputy editor, took home the highly prestigious Writer of the Year award.
The winners were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Grosvener House Hotel. Editor Ed Grenby (who was shortlisted for Editor of the Year) said: “Nick richly earned his award, and the whole Travel team thoroughly deserve their Magazine of the Year shortlisting after recording the title’s eighth consecutive ABC rise and its most profitable year ever.
Nick’s award and the magazine’s other two shortlistings are part of The Sunday Times Travel Magazine’s ongoing success. Its writing and photography have won more than a dozen awards in the last three years, including multiple ‘Editor of the Year’ gongs from the British Society of Magazine Editors.
