The News of the World to launch men’s magazine in March

The News of the World is to launch a men’s magazine in March which will stand as a sister title to the paper’s hugely successful weekly glossy, Fabulous.

This magazine will be edited by Mark Hayman, currently Creative Director of Fabulous magazine. Joely Carey has been appointed Editorial Director of both magazines.

The 56-page supplement magazine will launch on March 6th backed by a TV and radio marketing campaign.

Mark Hayman said: “After three years as Creative Director of Fabulous magazine, I can’t wait to bring the same success to the men’s sector. This new men’s magazine will be crammed with quality editorial, combined with the high production values that have helped make Fabulous the runaway success it is today.

“There is nothing quite like it in the men’s magazine market currently, and certainly nothing with the reach of News of the World.”

Mark joined Fabulous magazine for its launch in 2008. Previously he worked as a designer at The Independent, Art Director at the Daily Express and Creative Director of fashion magazine Happy.

The title will feature the most talked about cover stars, men’s fashion and grooming, plus in-depth investigative features combined with a mix of cutting-edge gadgets, fitness, food, music and film.

Paul Hayes, Managing Director, NI Commercial said: “We have been delighted by the reaction this product has had from key clients within this sector and the wider advertising community as a whole.

“We are convinced that there is a need for an intelligent title with scale for both our male audience and our commercial partners.

“It's a really exciting time for this market and we believe we have a product will deliver great results in all areas"
